Fertilizer Cost Calculator
Compare two fertilizer products to find the most cost-effective option. The calculator compares cost per pound of actual nitrogen delivered, which is the true measure of fertilizer value.

How Is Fertilizer Cost Calculated?
The true cost of fertilizer is measured in dollars per pound of actual nitrogen, not dollars per bag. A $15 bag of 10-10-10 (40 lbs) contains 4 lbs of nitrogen, costing $3.75 per lb of N. A $25 bag of 20-20-20 (10 lbs) contains 2 lbs of nitrogen, costing $12.50 per lb of N.
In this example, the cheaper-looking 20-20-20 is actually 3x more expensive per unit of nitrogen. Always compare cost per nutrient, not cost per bag.
