Best Fertilizer for Centipede Grass
Centipede grass needs the LEAST fertilizer of any turfgrass, only 1-2 lbs of nitrogen per 1,000 sq ft per year. Use 15-0-15 applied once or twice per year (May and optionally July). Never exceed 2 lbs N per year, over-fertilizing causes centipede decline, a fatal condition. Use iron supplements instead of nitrogen for greening. Avoid lime, centipede prefers acidic soil pH 5.0-6.0.
