Is Epsom Salt Good for Plants?
Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate) provides magnesium and sulfur but is NOT a complete fertilizer (0-0-0 NPK). Only use if a soil test confirms magnesium deficiency. Most soils already have adequate magnesium. Popular for tomatoes and roses but scientific evidence supporting routine use is limited. Over-application can create nutrient imbalances by interfering with calcium uptake. Apply 1 tbsp per gallon of water as foliar spray only when deficiency is confirmed.
